Regular visiting session of the Society of Interventional Cardiologists and Endovascular Surgeons was rendered on August 23-24 in Aktau in Kazakhstan, and was confined to the 30th anniversary of the organization of the Mangistau regional hospital. Meeting “Complicated clinical cases in endovascular surgery, methods of their treatment and prevention of complications” was conducted within the framework of this session.
At the meeting, the following current issues of cardiology and cardiac surgery were addressed: myocardial revascularization, antiplatelet therapy in cases of invasive intervention, catheter ablation. Chairman of the Board of the RPO “Society of Interventional Cardiologists and Endovascular Surgeons” Orazbek Sakhov (Kazakhstan, Almaty) made a presentation of the major events in interventional cardiology. Leading Kazakhstan and foreign scientists shared their experiences in treating severe patients that underwent cardiac surgery, issued recommendations on complicated and rare cases of chronic obstruction treatment, discussed the utilization of particular types of modern consumables in surgeon practice.
Meruzhan Saghatelyan (Armenia, Yerevan) reported on some complicated cases of chronic obstructions and successful surgical treatment using catheters and guide wires of the Japanese company “Asahi Intecc.”
Ersyn Sabitov (Kazakhstan, Semey) went into detail on particulars of the interventional treatment of the High Bleeding Risk patients. He applied BioFreedom stents manufactured by Swiss company “Biosensors International” - the world’s only evidence-based stents for application in this case in conjunction with short antiplatelet therapy. Combination of acetylsalicylic acid and clopidogrel was administered as dual antiplatelet therapy for 1 month.
On the second day of the meeting, issues of interventional treatment of diseases of cerebral arteries, chemoembolization in case of liver cancer, modern methods of X-ray protection, implantation of heart valves were addressed. Zhariyev K.M. reported on opening of a new cardiology center in Zhanaozen.
Advanced samples of modern medical devices were presented at the exhibition stand of Medcor - new catheters and guide wires of the Japanese company “Asahi Intecc” that physicians could directly familiarize themselves with on simulators.
New patient-specific procedural kits for different surgical interferences have been presented at Clever Medical plant stand. This is the first domestic production unit that produces high-quality medical products in accordance with all European requirements. A large variety of the products presented aroused defensible interest of physicians of all specialties.
Foreign lecturers from Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, India and other countries participated in the meeting.
